3/5

The Plot is as thin as any other horror like this. This is one reason why I don’t like horror films, another is that I jump easily. So in this film two college kids go on a road trip during spring break to Mexico and on the way pick up a hitch-hiker (Sean Bean) at a gas station who ends up being a psychopathic killer, blah blah things happen and they end up running from both the psychopath and the police.
As far as horror films go, it was pretty good. It kept me watching at least, which is a good sign for me witha horror film. Sean Bean didn’t suit playing that role though, for a start he comes from here in the UK, and he can’t do a great American accent. But I have to say he did a good job of the role, i’m just used to him playing a different kind of role.
As killers go Sean Bean played a good one. I mean he got straight to the point in the film, telling them that he was going to kill them. After this his role consisted more of sneering and delivering one-liners which were sometimes pretty funny, but his character could have been so much better. I don’t blame this on him as an actor though, it’s more the character in the film being underwritten.
The film seemed quite long to me (although it wasn’t), after 45 minutes I was wondering what they can fill another 45 minutes with, as a lot had happened and it could have finished at that point. But they managed it and with quite a graphic few scenes at the end too.
If you like horror films then you will like this. If not then it’s a hit or miss film, I thought it was okay although I don’t like them generally. I only watched it as I was made to by my girlfriend.
