The story is quite simple - After his partner Tom Wynne (Terry Chen) and family are killed by the infamous assassin ‘Rogue’ (Jet Li), FBI agent Jack Crawford (Jason Statham) loses his wife due to his obsession for revenge. Three years after the event he picks up Rogue’s trail again and it turns into a story about vengence, guilt and betrayal. In the mean time Rogue has his own plans, working for both the Triads and the Yakuza he creates a bloody crime war, his reason? Well you will have to watch the film now won’t you?
Although it is a fairly typical storyline, it still has it’s differences. There are some very clever plot twists in the movie which are hinted at before they are revealed. This doesn’t change that it is a typical action movie. But really anyone going to a film with jet Li or Jason Statham should know what to expect, high speed action, violence, etc. Now we have a second film with both of them and it doesn’t disappoint in that respect.
Overall I thought the film was great, great fight scenes, good acting, seemingly random women getting naked, what more could you ask for in an action film? Although I did think that it seemed much longer than it was, it only goes on for just over an hour and a half, I could have sworn I was in there for at least two hours. Nevertheless if you are a fan of action films, esspecially ones with Jet Li or Jason Statham in them then go see this film, you will love it, if not then you probably won’t like it.
